Asha Bhosle joins 'Indian Idol 6' judge's panel

Singing legend Asha Bhosle is set to join Anu Malek, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant as the fourth judge on the sixth season of popular singing reality show "Indian Idol". "The first thing I will ever look for in any contestant is their sur. My focus will be on sur because it is the most important part of singing. I don't like singers, who are not been trained properly," Bhosle told reporters on Tuesday.

"It is very important for singers to have a classical training as it helps them to sing the right notes. If the foundation of a building is strong, it stands tall forever, similarly, classical training sets the base for good singing," she added.

Bhosle, who is known for legendary songs like "Ek pardesi", "Piya tu ab to aaja" and "Yeh mera dil" has earlier been a part of several reality shows but as a celebrity judge, while "Indian Idol 6" will see her taking her a full-fledged role as a judge of the show.

It was earlier reported that music maestro A.R. Rahman was also approached for the show but things didn't work out. "Indian Idol 6" is set to go on air June 1 on Sony channel. Hope the presence of new judge will help the previous judge Panel to choose the best from the contestants.

Salman Khan does not need a partner this time. The actor has agreed to host Bigg Boss 6 on his own, reports Mid Day.

   Sanjay Dutt who co-hosted the previous season along with Salman would not be a part of the upcoming season. The star will return to his favourite show later this "Even though Salman is presently shooting in Thailand for a film with Katrina Kaif, the makers have already sounded him about being part of the new season as well. Big Brother 2012:Live feed will be part of Big Brother 2012 on Channel 5

After its success on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, streaming live from the house in Elstree will be available on digital channel 5* after each live eviction show.

Big Brother host Brian declared: “Live feed is back after every live show, so after every live eviction there will be live feed for an hour.”

He explained: “It worked really well last year, when we did the live evictions in January over a a million people watched. I think then they realised there was an interest in live feed, so there’s going to be live feed after every live show.”

The series will kick off with ‘classic’ Big Brother. Thousand have people auditioned to be a housemate this year resulting in a line-up that’s entertaining, memorable and totally explosive.

Whitney Houston's last song, which she recorded just days before her tragic death in the bathtub of a hotel suite, was released on Monday. The track titled 'Celebrate' has the legendary singer perform a duet with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, for her upcoming movie 'Sparkle', the BBC reported.

    The song is a breezy, uptempo dance-pop number about overcoming personal trials on the dance floor.Sparkle, which tells the story of three sisters who become Motown stars, is a re-make of the 1976 film of the same name.

According to the Daily Star, bosses have completely redesigned the set based at Elstree.

The world's tallest tower and Japan's biggest new landmark, the Tokyo Skytree, opened to the public on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Nearly 8,000 visitors were expected to take high-speed elevators up to the observation decks of the 634-meter (2,080-foot) tower to mark its opening. Some reportedly waited in line more than a week to get the coveted tickets for a panoramic view, though Tuesday ended up being cloudy in Tokyo.

Skytree is recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest tower, beating out the CantonTower in China, which is 600 meters (1,968 1/2 feet). Guinness lists the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, at 828 meters (2,716 feet 6 inches), as the world's tallest building.

The world's tallest structure is Dubai's Burj Khalifa, which stands 828 meters (2,717 feet). That's in a different category because it's a skyscraper, not a tower.

The Skytree will serve as a broadcast tower for television and radio, along with being a tourist attraction. It replaces the 333-meter-tall (1,092 1/2-foot-tall) Tokyo Tower — a symbol of Japan's capital since 1958 — as the broadcast hub. Michihiko Katsuragi, 27, has watched construction of the tower since moving to the area in 2009, according to a report in the Mainichi Daily News.

"I felt like I was growing up at the same time," he was quoted as saying.

Kazutaka Hasegawa got in line on May 16 and was the first visitor to the Skytree on Tuesday, according to the Mainichi Daily News.

World Tallest tower Opens on May 22 2012 for Public

"As a resident of Sumida Ward, I feel a sense of satisfaction in being the first person to ascend the tower," Hasegawa was quoted as saying.

The Skytree has two observation decks, at 350 meters (1,148 feet) and at 450 meters (1,476 feet).

The upper deck can hold 900 people at a time and the lower deck 2,000, according to a report from the Japan Daily Press. Only 6,000 tickets to the decks will be sold daily and they are sold online through a lottery system, the report said

Burj Khalifa World Tallest Building 

.The Skytree complex, which also includes a shopping area, was expected to draw about 200,000 visitors on Tuesday, according to the Daily Press.

 In 2014, China is expected to complete the Shanghai Tower, which at 2,073 feet will be the country's tallest building, and the world's tallest after the Burj Dubai.

Big Brother StarGame: Second Week Eviction Zainab Upgraded, Three Evicted!

Zainab dodged the dagger and was elevated to Upville while Luke, Yadel and Dalphin were evicted.After a strenous week in Downville, Liberia bade goodbye to StarGame while Sierra Leonelost Dalphin but still have the confident Zainab in the game.

 As usual, the Housemates gathered in the lounge in anticipation of the fate of their Housemates.
 Zainab and Dalphin were the first to be asked to leave the House. There were a lot of "I love yous" and hugs exchanged proving that the girls had made a mark on their Housemates.
 Asked about her relationship with Seydou, Zainab said they don't really hate each other but they just didn't get along.

 Dalphin said she enjoyed every moment in the House but she didn't like how some people took advantage of each other.
 Luke and Yadel were next in line and Luke couldn't hold back his tears.
 On stage, Yadel was asked if she's still in a relationship and she said "I was and I hope I still am." Dalphin was the first to be evicted followed by Yadel then Luke. At that point, Zainab was already in tears.

How Social Media helps in boosting search engine rankings of your Blog?

The search engine ranking of your website plays an important role in attracting more visitors to the site, and helping your brand gain more visibility online. One way of making your website more search-engine friendly, is by ensuring that the website content is SEO optimized.

A new infographic by TastyPlacement, however, points out that ranking high on Google, is not just about SEO, it’s about social media too.

TastyPlacement created six websites in six similarly-sized UScities, to conduct a study to analyze the relationship between a certain social media activity and the organic search engine rankings.

The study involved carrying a particular social media marketing activity and measuring the average change in the search engine ranking position, for five of the sites, after a period of one month. The sixth site was left as-is for a control test.

From the study results, social media marketing was found to help boost the search engine rankings in the following ways:

When a target website was promoted via social media connections, and 100 followers were secured to a linked Google+ business page, the website’s search engine position rose by 14.63

When a target website was promoted via social media connections, and 300 Google +1 votes were secured to that target website, its search engine position rose by 9.44

When a target website was promoted via social media connections, and 70 Facebook shares were secured for the target website, and Facebook “likes” to a linked Facebook business pagewere increased by 50, the search engine position of the target website rose by 6.9.

Shilpa Shetty gave birth to a baby boy

Gorgeous Bollywood actor and the co-owner of Indian Premiere League (IPL) franchisee Rajasthan Royals, Shilpa Shetty gave birth to a baby boy at a Mumbai hospital early Monday.

She was admitted to Hinduja Healthcare hospital in Khar and was blessed with a boy at the break of the dawn.
Both mother and baby are doing fine, said doctors. Raj and the entire family were present at the time of birth.

Twitter blocked in Pakistan over contentious material

Pakistan blocked the social networking website Twitter on Sunday because it refused to remove material considered offensive to Islam, said one of the country’s top telecommunications officials.

The material was promoting a competition on Facebook to post images of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, said Mohammad Yaseen, chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication’s Authority. Many Muslims regard depictions of the prophet, even favorable ones, as blasphemous.

Yaseen said Facebook agreed to address Pakistan’s concerns about the competition, but officials have failed to get Twitter to do the same.

”We have been negotiating with them until last night, but they did not agree to remove the stuff, so we had to block it,” said Yaseen.

Instructions to block the site came from Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology, said Yaseen.

”The ministry officials are still trying to make them (Twitter) agree, and once they remove that stuff, the site will be unblocked,” said Yaseen.
Officials from Twitter and Facebook were not immediately available for comment.

A top court in Pakistanordered a ban on Facebook in 2010 amid anger over a similar competition. The ban was lifted about two weeks later, after Facebook blocked the particular page in Pakistan.

The Pakistani government said at the time that it would continue to monitor other major websites for anti-Islamic links and content.

Australian cricketer 'sexually assaulted American woman and severely beat her fiancee

Australian cricketer Luke Pomersbach has been arrested on molestation and assault charges, a senior Delhi Police official said today.

The 27-year-old is accused of molesting American Zoe Khan and physically attacking her fiancee Sahil Peerzada in a city hotel during a party after Pomersbach's Bangaloreteam had beaten Delhiin an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Thursday.

Police commissioner KC Dwived said: 'The lady complained he molested her and after he left the room, he came back again and tried to force his entry into the room.'

'I am shocked to be in this position. I can't believe this is happening and I'm really disappointed when people make things up,' Pomersbach was quoted as saying by The Weekend Australian newspaper.

The Australian cricketer was subsequently granted an interim bail by a city court.

Khan and her fiancee Peerzada are undergoing treatment in a city hospital.

Attended by celebrities from the world of cricket and show business, IPL post-match parties have drawn criticism but league chairman Rajeev Shukla said the body no longer has anything to do with the events.
