Spotted by Bollywood Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the show, Shreya was given her first break in his 2002 release ‘Devdas’.

Bollywood buffs have swayed to the tunes of ‘Dola Re’ by Shreya and she has also won a National Award for the song ‘Bairi Piya’, from the same movie.
‘Radha from ‘Student of the Year’ is her latest hit.

Shreya has also judged shows like ‘Star Voice of India - Chhote Ustaad’ and ‘X Factor India’.
However, music producer Anu Malik who has judged all the six seasons of the adult version will not be seen in this one. Trick or treat?
The show will be aired on Sony TV.

Asha Bhosle joins 'Indian Idol 6' judge's panel

Singing legend Asha Bhosle is set to join Anu Malek, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant as the fourth judge on the sixth season of popular singing reality show "Indian Idol". "The first thing I will ever look for in any contestant is their sur. My focus will be on sur because it is the most important part of singing. I don't like singers, who are not been trained properly," Bhosle told reporters on Tuesday.
"It is very important for singers to have a classical training as it helps them to sing the right notes. If the foundation of a building is strong, it stands tall forever, similarly, classical training sets the base for good singing," she added.
Asha Bhosle is expected to join judge Panel of Indian Idol 6
Bhosle, who is known for legendary songs like "Ek pardesi", "Piya tu ab to aaja" and "Yeh mera dil" has earlier been a part of several reality shows but as a celebrity judge, while "Indian Idol 6" will see her taking her a full-fledged role as a judge of the show.
It was earlier reported that music maestro A.R. Rahman was also approached for the show but things didn't work out. "Indian Idol 6" is set to go on air June 1 on Sony channel. Hope the presence of new judge will help the previous judge Panel to choose the best from the contestants.

Singing Reality show Indian Idol 6 starts on Sony from June 1

The popular singing reality show Indian Idol will be back on Sony Television this summer. The show is back in its 6th avatar and the music lover and television viewers are counting the days as it is soon to air on Sony. According to the promos shown in Sony television the show will begin on June first on Friday and Saturday. Leading the TRP charts with a whole lot of shows, the marketing team at Sony is confident of recreating the magic that the music hunt has been creating over the last five seasons.

Added to this, is the buzz of the auditions having gone to the smaller towns of India as well Fathers encouraging their daughters to sing, a brother trying to save his house by singing. Such stories connect with people who’ve lived on the streets and dream big”. The 1.5 lac and counting figure for registration across diverse parts of India drives home this point well.
Indian Idol 6 is expected to be bigger and better this time. This time round, the channel is also taking measure to undertake a more enhanced search for the perfect voice. The three judges, repeated from the previous season, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anu Malik and Salim Merchant have been constantly asserting that the focus remains on a beautiful and contemporary voice and not lovely looks. The latter is an add on, but no compulsion!

The show will be hosted by Mini Mathur and her companion is yet to be decided.
Sony has designed an interesting tagline for the Idol hunt this year: ‘Koi bhi insaan chota nahin hota’. With this, and along with assertions from the judges, its safe to conclude that Indian Idol 6 would have a lot to offer the sub urban and rural crowds.
