Big Brother 2013 start date: Big Brother UK set to launch in second week of June

The Big Brother 2013 start date is looking set for the second week of June, as the pre-series build up begins. This week bosses announced that Rylan Clark and AJ Odudu would be joining Emma Willis on Bit On The Side for the new series this summer. They also confirmed a new Sunday lunchtime version of the spin off, a new psychology series and a return of live streaming.

A start date in June is now confirmed, although as yet the exact date has not been revealed. An excited Emma can’t wait, and she told us: “I’m out of the closet with my Big Brother obsession! There’s no hiding it. I’m out there and proud!
The house is almost complete, having seen a going over by designers since Rylan became the last housemate to leave in the latest Celebrity series in January.A source told us previously: “The house is looking great and all it needs now is some new housemates.”

Other changes to the show will include an apparent focus on more ‘real’ housemates.A source said: “The show needs to change and that’s what we’re doing.“We want to get back to the essence of what made it must-see telly.“We’ve got some interesting people signed up this year — including some older folk.”Speaking to The Sun last month, the supposed insider added: “We don’t just want a bunch of fame-hungry youngsters who only want to show off.” But while everything else is changing, narrator Marcus Bentley will be staying put, tweeting after the announcement of Brian’s axe: “I am thankfully doing Big Brother this summer. I hadn’t read the news today.
