Madan Puraskar of 2066 goes to physically challenged writer Nar Bahadur Saud

Madan Puraskar Guthi announces the madan puraskar every year in the field of literature and this prize is considered one of the biggest prize in the field of literature. Unlike other year this year,Nar Bahadur Saud of Baitadi has been awarded Madan Puraskar for the year 2066 B.S. for his book Nepalka Balinali Ra Tinko Digo Kheti (Crops in Nepal and their sustainable cultivation).

 A general assembly of Madan Puraskar Trust on Wednesday decided to award Saud for his book that was not written exactly on the literature but on the field of agriculture.The prize money is Rs 2 lakhs and that will be awarded on the day of ghatasthapana.
Saud, 48, has been living in Ultakham near Mahendranagar with his parents and sisters since the past two decades. He is a graduate of Agriculture University, Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, India on the scoholarship provided by the governtment.
He became a wheelchair user after his legs got impaired in a road accident twenty years ago.And that accident makes his life miserable and even his wife left him alone . He was been given the ransom money of around 3,000 per month by his ex office and that was only the source of income he had..
 The was written on the period of 15 years and that was published after so many struggle and later book was published on the recommendation of agricultural expert.
This is the first time in the past 50 years a book on agriculture has been awarded Madan Puraskar. Before this, Uddyan (garden) written by Gangabikram Sijapati was awarded Madan Puraskar in 2015 BS.
