'Roadies X' launched, Raghu Ram says they've made history

"Roadies" is coming out with its 10th season and producer Raghu Ram says they have created history as nobody thought the adventure reality show will survive for a decade when it debuted in 2003. "We are creating history. I believe so because in reality television nobody thought this would happen. This is the 10th year of the show. This is first reality show in India to hit season 10. Others don't go beyond two-three seasons," Raghu told IANS.

"There is something called format fatigue. Viewers get tired of it. All the other shows that I know of are based on international formats. Ours is an indigenous, original format," he added.

Raghu was here Friday with VJ-turned-actor Rannvijay Singh, who was the winner of the first season, to launch the 10th season of the series titled "Roadies X - Battle For Glory".

The new show will see best friends Raghu and Rannvijay competing with each other along with their respective teams.

They have brought an interesting twist in the selection procedure. While Raghu will pick the best from the previous seasons, Rannvijay's team will have fresh faces.

The auditions for the same have started.

The show has been critisised for its rowdy and abusive content, but Raghu is unperturbed.

"Actually what those guys (critics) think does not matter to me because that is not what the show is about. They have missed the point. No matter what I do, they will think like that," he said.

All the action for "Roadies X..." will take part in India - the team will travel to the northeast before moving to other parts of the country.

Bigg Boss 6: Navjot Singh Sidhu undergoes voice analysis on 'Bigg Boss 6'

Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu underwent a Layered Voice Analysis (LAV) during reality show "Bigg Boss 6". The LAV was conducted on Sidhu, who has been posing to be extremely diplomatic on the show. He is quite positive and very friendly with all the contestants, so perhaps, he needed to be given a "reality check", said a source.

Sidhu was asked around 20 questions, not just about his cricket career, but also about his thoughts on co-participants of "Bigg Boss 6".

When he was asked if he ever cheated during his international cricket career, he said: "Haan, in Sharjah, maine Courtney Walsh ka catch boundary rope main pakda tha aur hum woh match jeet gaye the (In Sharjah, I took Courtney Walsh's catch at the boundary and it helped us win the match). But I'm repentant about it."

He also said he finds Vrajesh Hirjee as the most cunning contestant on this season of "Bigg Boss", and that he did indeed feel model Karishma Kotak was the prettiest face on the show.

Sidhu was recently put in the panic room of the show too.

Bigg Boss 6 Eviction: Aseem Trivedi evicted from Bigg Boss 6

After the tensed week Controversial aseem Trivedi is evicted from big boss 6.His stay on "Bigg Boss 6" has not been as controversial inside the house as it has been outside. Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi's journey on the reality show came to an end Friday night, following his eviction and a recent agitation outside the office of the Colours channel.
His entry on the show raised many eyebrows. He had even stated that his motive was to use the platform to spread a word about his message against corruption.
Even before he stepped into the "Bigg Boss 6" house with 14 others, he was sure he would not provide any entertainment on the show. And he kept to his words.

He maintained a quiet demeanour. But Republican Party of India (RPI) activists were ruffled by his presence.Activists of the Ramdas Athawale-led RPI recently pelted stones at the office of Colors TV channel here, demanding Trivedi's eviction from the show.

In the past, Trivedi grabbed media attention due to his controversial cartoons on Indian emblems and the constitution during Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement in Mumbai in December 2011. He was arrested on sedition charges two months ago, but was released on bail after a stay of three days in jail.
However on Oct 12, the Maharashtra government dropped sedition charges against Aseem.

On "Bigg Boss 6" this week, two contestants were due to be shown the door, out of four nominated candidates - Gulab Gang leader Sampat Lal, model Karishma Kotak, hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani and Trivedi.
Karishma left the show after her father passed away earlier this week, and Trivedi is said to have received the lowest votes from the audience. However, it would be no surprise if his ouster is a result of pressure on Colors officials from the RPI.
