Avalanche Triggers Massive Flood in Western Nepal(watch Video of Floods)


Avalanche from Annapurna Mountainrange triggered flood in Seti River in western Nepal on Saturday morning.

According to locals, four people have been killed and over 50 have gone missing in the flood including three Russian tourists.
The massive flood swept away five trucks, bridges, dozens of houses, trees and encroached agricultural fields. Two buses carrying students for a picnic at Khaarapani have also been swept away by the flood.

Police official Shailesh Thapa said  that four bodies have been pulled out from the Seti river in Kaski district. Police are searching for more victims.
Thapa said a police team is still on its way to the village in the Mount Annapurnaarea. The flooding even reached the tourist resort town of Pokhara, about 200 kilometers (125 miles) west of the capital, Katmandu.
