The 'Judas' hitmaker will make one of her first appearances since having hip surgery in February and debut her new single at the annual awards bash on August 25, which will air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

IIFA Awards 2014:IIFA 2014 travelling to US for the first time

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards is all set to make its maiden trip to the US by hosting the 2014 edition at the Tampa Bay in Florida.

"We are extremely excited to announce that IIFA 2014 will travel to US. We had been working on America for the last three years with various cities like Las Vegas, Chicago and New York," Andre Timmins, Director, IIFA and Wizcraft, told PTI in an exclusive interview.

The new venue aims to cash in on the huge fan base Indian cinema has in the US. "The maximum grosser of Indian cinema after India is America. We wanted to go to America because the city can transport what we do on ground. So, on that aspect we are happy that Tampa Bay is on," he added.

In the last 14 years, IIFA has travelled to four continents including Africa, Europe, Asia and North America.
Andre said that IIFA 2014 will be grand as it will try to connect with the Indians residing in the city.
"It is going to be extra-ordinary as we are going to convert the baseball stadium into a cricket stadium and there will be a match between celebrities and cricketers during award ceremony. IIFA rocks venue is about 21,000 people and main arena has the sitting capacity of 35,000 people. We will connect to all Gujarati and other Indian communities there," Andre said.The award ceremony will also see performances from noted Hollywood personalities.
Barbados, Las Vegas, Chicago and Johannesburg were other contenders to host the next edition of the Bollywood extravaganza.

Madame Tussauds London has unveiled its waxwork of 'Skyfall' songstress Adele and the singer has given her double the stamp of approval, branding it 'amazing'.
Adele has praised her "amazing" Madame Tussauds waxwork.The 'Skyfall' singer - who won an Oscar earlier this year - can now lay claim to a life-size statue of her very own as the popular tourist attraction unveiled a doppelganger in her honour at its London museum Yesterday (03.07.13).

Adele had a chance to sneak a peek at her waxwork prior to its public launch and commented: "That's scary! It's amazing. I feel a bit emotional."
The 24-year-old singer - who has largely been out of the spotlight since giving birth to her first son, Angelo, with boyfriend Simon Konecki in October 2012 - also gave the double her stamp of approval. 

She quipped: "They've even got my chin right!"Adele's waxwork is styled after her look at the Grammy Awards in February 2012, which is a night the 'Someone Like You' hitmaker no doubt cherishes, as she took home of the six prestigious US trophies for her multi-platinum selling album, '21'.
Madame Tussauds London's PR manager Nicole Fenner commented: "Adele is quite simply one of the world's most successful, celebrated and popular performers and rightly deserves a place here at Madame Tussauds London.

IIFA awards 2013: Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor to co-host

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will host the upcoming 14th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards at the Venetian in Macau. Shahid Kapoor will be joining him on stage as his co-host.However, this won’t be the first time Shahid and Shah Rukh will come together for such an event. The duo has previously hosted two editions of another film award function in 2010 and 2012.

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris hospitalised after 'suicide attempt'

Pop icon Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter Paris Jackson on Wednesday allegedly tried to commit suicide and was rushed to a hospital here, according to media reports.

"She's going to be OK," a source close to the Jackson family told CNN. The source, who was at the hospital, said it was unclear why she was hospitalised.However, celebrity news website TMZ, quoting its sources, said it was a suicide attempt and she was taken from her Calabasas family home on a stretcher and conveyed to a nearby hospital.We are told the caller reported a possible overdose, although a source connected to the emergency response said there were multiple cuts on one of her wrists, the TMZ report said.

Justin Bieber has been hit with a paternity claim once again as an unidentified "European" woman, 25, has alleged that the singer allegedly slept with her when he was 15-year-old.

According to Star magazine, the duo supposedly met at a T.G.I. Fridays after Bieber`s concert in Florida and he took her back to his room at the Gansevoort South hotel, on Feb. 4, 2010, the New York Post reported.A source said in the report that after the alleged one-night stand, the woman gave birth to a baby girl in late October 2010.

American Idol Season 12: Candice Glover Takes the Crown

Three times is the charm for Candice Glover, who was crowned the winner of Season 12 of American Idol after trying out – and getting cut – twice before. Tears streamed down her face as she sang her single "I Am Beautiful," confetti raining down on her. It was a rewarding ending for fans and, undoubtedly, the producers, who hoped that a woman would take the title after five years of white men with guitars winning. The last woman to win American Idol was Jordin Sparks back in Season Six. 

With a flawless voice that recalled past "American Idol" finalist Jennifer Hudson and a sense of determination after not making it in previous seasons, Candice Glover did the one thing Hudson wasn't able to do: She won the title of "American Idol." "I always knew for some reason that it would happen if I kept going," said Glover backstage Thursday after her coronation. 
The 23-year-old vocal powerhouse from St. Helena Island, S.C., auditioned for the ninth and 11th seasons of the Fox singing competition but didn't ascend to the finals until this season.Glover looked stunned when "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest announced amid a flurry of confetti that she had bested soulful 22-year-old country singer Kree Harrison from Woodville, Texas."I don't remember him saying my name," said Glover. "I do remember confetti getting in my mouth."After her crowning, an emotional Glover sobbed her way through her new single "I Am Beautiful."

It was fitting that Hudson, who went on to win a Grammy and an Oscar after being the sixth contestant eliminated during the third season, returned for Thursday's 12th season finale to duet with Glover on Natalie Cole's "Inseparable." "I look up to her and, honestly, she is so successful after this show, and I really admire her," said Glover, who worked as an excursions coordinator renting scooters and golf carts back home. "I finally got a chance to not only meet her but sing with her." 
Hudson was among the guest stars who helped fill out the two-hour finale show, including Psy, Frankie Valli, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, Aretha Franklin and former "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez. Current "Idol" judges Keith Urban and Mariah Carey - along with Randy Jackson on bass - also performed. Jackson previously declared Wednesday's three-song showdown a dead heat between Harrison and Glover, who have both once been among the show's low vote-getters. 
"The title is freaking amazing, and I'm so proud of Candice, but for me, I'm so thankful I could even stand next to her on the finale," said Harrison, who now lives in Nashville, Tenn.

Glover's win marks the first time a female and a nonwhite singer has won the competition since Jordin Sparks dominated the sixth season in 2007. The previous five winners - Phillip Phillips, Scotty McCreery, Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen and David Cook - were all Caucasian guitar players, known to "Idol" fans as WGWGs, or white guys with guitars. The lack of a female champion for the past five years was mocked in a finale bit featuring the female finalists, in cahoots with Sparks, jokingly sabotaging this season's five male contestants. Last year's finale between Phillips and budding pop diva Jessica Sanchez brought in 132 million votes. The vote totals for Thursday's finale weren't shared with viewers. 

Besides the crowning of Glover, Thursday's finale also served as a final farewell for Jackson, the show's last remaining original judge who announced last week that he's leaving "Idol" to focus on his record label and other business opportunities. One Direction Announced Where We are Tour 2014 With Football Kits

Boy band One Direction just announced they were going to embark on a world tour and what better way to kick it off than slipping into an array of different football strips. The group revealed details of the mammoth Where We Are Tour 2014 at a press conference at Wembley Stadium in north London. 

And just after they caused screaming all over the globe, the boys tried on different football strips - just to make sure each fan, whatever the country - to get a glimpse of them in their national team's colours. First up was England of course, with Niall Horan opting for his own country's Irish strip. Each strip represented a nation where the boys will perform on their upcoming tours. The group, who shot to fame on the X Factor, have become a global phenomenon since their debut single in 2011 and have sold more than 30 million records and DVDs globally and topped the charts in more than 37 countries.

The stadium tour in 2014 will include five UK and Ireland dates and eight in Latin America, according to the One Direction website. The band will play Sunderland's Stadium of Light on April 28, Manchester City's Etihad stadium on April 31, Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium on June 3 and on June 7 they will perform at Wembley. They will play Dublin's Croke Park on April 25.

The Latin American leg of the tour in April and May will see them visit Brazil (two concerts), Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay. The website said more dates would be added soon. One Direction shot to fame after coming third in the 2010 series of the X Factor, where they lost out to singer-songwriter Matt Cardle. But the five-piece have gone on to eclipse the eventual winner, enjoying a string of top 10 singles, recording two hit albums and are now about to release their first film, 1D3D. 

The band - who said they are all big football fans - stressed that further shows on the world tour would be announced at a later date. Horan said: 'We're incredibly excited to announce we're doing a worldwide stadium tour in 2014. 'We're three years into it (being a band), so stepping out to an audience of 65,000 a night is incredible.' 

The announcement comes in the middle of the band's current tour, which will see them play in Switzerland tonight and Germany tomorrow. Asked about what fans - known as Directioners - can expect next year, Styles said: 'It's important that the fans know it's not the same tour going around again in stadiums. 

'We want to make the stage bigger, with new songs. It's going to be a completely different tour and a lot of fun.' Fellow band members Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson were also present for the announcement today, visibly excited about the prospect of playing in some of the world's greatest stadiums. 

The band also confirmed plans for a new album, following last year's Take Me Home, to be released later this year. 'One Direction is arguably the biggest boy band ever and fans from around the world will be desperate to get their hands on a ticket to see the boys perform live.'
