Ekta Kapoor to produce Azharuddin's biopic?

Be it athlete Milkha Singh or boxer Mary Kom, the love for sports is growing day by day in the film fraternity. As, now according to reports Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor is keen to produce a film on former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin.   The former captain is the latest to join the long list of personalities whose biopics are currently under production.

A leading publication reports that she has already started work on the project and has brought writer Rajat Arora on board to start work on the script.Reports also suggest that the producer has given a huge amount to Azharuddin to acquire the rights of his biopic. However, an official announcement is still awaited.Talking about Rajat, the scriptwriter has already written three scripts for Ekta-- The Dirty Picture, and the Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai series. 

The film is expected to go on the floors later this year.

Baby Milan was born in Barcelona two months ago to a Spanish father and a Colombian mother.

So it was only going to be a matter of time until the little boy would be obtaining his first passport to go with his celebrity baby jet-setting lifestyle.

Proud mother Shakira posted a photo online of her footballer boyfriend Gerard Pique and their 10-week-old baby at the passport office. Writing in both Spanish and English on her Instagram page, she said: 'Daddy and son waiting for Milan's passport!'

With Gerard looking to the side, he keeps two hands on his adorable son, who looks towards his mother - presumably the one behind the camera.

The little boy looked smart in his blue checked shirt and navy trousers as he sat on his father's lap.

It looks like Milan may be getting his passport ahead of Shakira's return to the United States ahead of The Voice live shows.

Shakira can currently be seen on-screen for the auditions, but will be gearing up for the live battle rounds, which are set to screen in two weeks time.

The Latina beauty, 36, and Barcelona FC player, 26, announced their son Milan's birth on his official website in January. Gerard wrote: 'Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.'

Armstrong 'admits' to drug abuse to win Tour de France during Oprah Winfrey interview

According to Daily mail Lance Armstrong last night reportedly admitted using performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France. The disgraced cyclist is said to have confessed in an interview with American TV chat show queen Oprah Winfrey which is scheduled to be broadcast on Thursday. 

Armstrong earlier visited the staff of his charity at the Texas offices to apologise for putting their work at risk. Several employees cried when he told them: ‘I’m sorry.’ He promised he would try to restore the foundation’s reputation - before meeting his legal team to prepare for the Oprah interview.

Armstrong reportedly spoke to a room full of about 100 staff members for about 20 minutes, expressing regret for everything the controversy has put them through. 

He told them how much the foundation means to him and that he considers the people who work there to be like members of his family. None of the people in the room challenged Armstrong over his long denials of doping.

After the interview, Winfrey tweeted: 'Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2 1/2 hours. He came READY!' Winfrey and her crew planned on filming Monday's session at Armstrong's home. Shakira, Gerard Pique welcome baby boy

Colombian superstar Shakira and her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Pique have received a late Christmas gift after welcoming their first child. The 35-year-oldHips Don't Lie hitmaker gave birth to a son on Thursday and her elated partner took to Twitter to share the happy news, reported People magazine. 
"Our son (is) already born! We are very happy! Thank you all for your messages," Pique posted. 

The name of the baby boy has not yet been released. The new mom will be quite busy next year. She will fill in the vacant spot left by Christina Aguilera in the Spring cycle ofThe Voiceand is also expected to release a new album. 
   Shakira revealed her pregnancy last September when announcing the cancellation of a Las Vegas gig. The singer began dating sportsman Pique in 2011 after splitting from her longtime boyfriend Antonio de la Rua.

World's longest high-speed rail line opens connecting Beijing with southern China

China on Wednesday opened the world's longest high-speed rail line that more than halves the time required to travel from the country's capital in the north to Guangzhou, an economic hub in southern China.

The opening of the 2,298 kilometer (1,428 mile)-line was commemorated by the 9 a.m. departure of a train from Beijing for Guangzhou. Another train left Guangzhou for Beijing an hour later.China has massive resources and considerable prestige invested in its showcase high-speed railways program.

But it has in recent months faced high-profile problems: part of a line collapsed in central China after heavy rains in March, while a bullet train crash in the summer of 2011 killed 40 people. The former railway minister, who spearheaded the bullet train's construction, and the ministry's chief engineer, were detained in an unrelated corruption investigation months before the crash.Trains on the latest high-speed line will initially run at 300 kph (186 mph) with a total travel time of about eight hours. Before, the fastest time between the two cities by train was more than 20 hours.

The line also makes stops in major cities along the way, including provincial capitals Shijiazhuang, Wuhan and Changsha.

More than 150 pairs of high-speed trains will run on the new line every day, the official Xinhua News Agency said, citing the Ministry of Railways.

Railway is an essential part in China's transportation system, and the government plans to build a grid of high-speed railways with four east-west lines and four north-south lines by 2020.

The opening of the new line brings the total distance covered by China's high-speed railway system to more than 9,300 km (5,800 miles) — about half its 2015 target of 18,000 km.
