Arnold Schwarzenegger to run for President in 2016?

The 66-year-old actor - who was born in Austria - is battling to change the law in America to allow foreign-born candidates to stand for the top political role, which will allow him to take part in the elections in three years time and possibly be voted in as the leader of the country.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Schwarzenegger has been talking openly about working on getting the constitutional rules changed so he can run for president in 2016. He is ready to file legal paperwork to challenge the rules."The Constitution prevents foreign-born citizens from being the country's leader, and any amendments must be approved by a two-thirds majority in the House and the Senate, but 'The Expendables 2' star became a US citizen in 1983 and could go forward with a legal challenge.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Schwarzenegger has always had political aspirations and became the Governor of California in 2003 after winning the election. He held the position for two terms before returning to his film career in 2011.

Speaking previously, he said: "That was always the plan: I'd step out of the movie business for a period of time, and into the governorship. And then, when I'm finished with the governorship, go back to the movie business. I am very happy being busy with movies

Miss Connecticut Erin Brady crowned Miss USA 2013

A 25-year-old contestant from Connecticut won the title of Miss USA in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Erin Brady of South Glastonbury, Conn., won the beauty pageant at the Planet Hollywood hotel-casino after strutting in a white sparkly gown and answering a question about the U.S. Supreme Court's decision upholding widespread DNA tests. Asked if she agreed with the decision, Brady said she did.
Brady gets the crown and a New York apartment for one year. She is expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising breast and ovarian cancer awareness, the organization's official cause.
During the swimsuit competition, the ladies threw off sheer wraps to reveal skimpy blue, gold and orange bikinis. They strutted in stilettos to the Jonas Brothers' live performance of "Pom Poms."

The women also strutted to Calvin Harris' electronica-infused "Sweet Nothing" in an array of spangled, flowing evening gowns. Trains, gauze and long wavy hair were the preferred looks.
Unlike the rival Miss America pageant, Miss USA doesn't ask its queens to perform a talent or choose a charity mission.
The judge's panel included over-the-top fashion designer Betsey Johnson, "Biggest Loser" star Bob Harper and "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me" personality Mo Rocca. Rocca praised the pageant as a prime example of Americana backstage. He said he was looking to appoint a new Miss USA who reminded him of Abraham Lincoln "without the beard."
The pageant aired live on NBC, hosted by Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers pop act and Giuliana Rancic, co-anchor of "E! News." The Jonas Brothers and DJ Pauly D were expected to perform.

The winner will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in the winter. Last year's Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, won that international crown, becoming the first Miss USA to ascend to Miss Universe in 16 years. Meriwether, who had been first runner-up, took over for her for the remainder of the year.

The Miss USA hopefuls stayed at the Planet Hollywood casino for the past week, but the flashing slot machines and ubiquitous oversized novelty drinks have been little more than a background to a stuffed schedule of product tie-in media events, including hairdo contests and paddleboat competitions.

The animal rights organization People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals is using the pageant to stage a protest of fur and the tradition of awarding furs to winners of some state pageants. PETA has made a provocative ad featuring four nude former Miss USA winners. The tagline is: "Feel Beautiful in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs."

Angelina Jolie's breast cancer confession: I had double mastectomy

Angelina Jolie revealed Tuesday that she has undergone a preventive double mastectomy because she had a very high risk of breast cancer.
The 37-year-old American actress wrote in an opinion piece entitled "My Medical Choice" in The New York Times that she had chosen the procedure because she carries a faulty gene that increases her risk of both breast and ovarian cancer.
Jolie, one of Hollywood's best-known faces and the partner of actor Brad Pitt, said that because of this gene, known as BRCA1, her doctors estimated she had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer. Her mother died of cancer at the age of 56, she said."Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy," she wrote.
Angelina Jolie
"I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex," Jolie wrote.
She said that on April 27 she completed the three months of medical procedures that the mastectomies involved.Jolie said her chances of developing breast cancer are now down to five percent.Jolie and Pitt have three adopted and three biological children.
"I can tell my children they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer," Jolie said.

US Green Card shifting from lottery to points system

Are you vying to live in USA by getting green card and believe in luck that lottery will full fill your desire then it’s not possible in days to come.Ten criteria for immigrant applicants will be taken into account in the system, which has a theoretical maximum of 100 points. For years, millions of immigrant applicants hoped they would be lucky enough to win the US Green Card lottery. Under reform being considered in Congress, they may soon be asking: "Am I skilled enough?"
By 2017, according to a proposed revamp of laws governing admission to the United States, permanent residency permits known as Green Cards could be doled out not on luck but "on merit," via a points system that would put more qualified applicants at the front of the line.
Are you a French computer scientist with a strong command of English, already living in the United States on a visa but whose employer is reluctant to sponsor you for permanent residency? The new system may work in your favor.Nothing is set in stone yet, but an 844-page measure, the most comprehensive immigration reform in a generation, is working its way through the Senate, and members of the House say they, too, are hopeful a bill can be signed into law this year.

Ten criteria for immigrant applicants will be taken into account in the system, which has a theoretical maximum of 100 points.Under the new system, a university degree will be worth five points, a master's degree 10 and a doctorate 15.
Each year of work experience will provide an applicant from zero to three points, depending on the employment level, for a maximum of 20 points. Are you a programmer, computer scientist, or software developer? 10 points. If your job is in an occupation related to your degree: 8-10 points.A TOEFL English language proficiency score of 80 or more? Chalk up another 10.Contractors who employ at least two people: 10 points.Clearly, skills and experience count under the proposed system -- but so does youth. Those age 25 and under will receive eight points; 25-32 year old are awarded six points; and age 33-37 years, four. Those age 38 or above receive no bonus.
A sibling of a US citizen earns 10 points, as does the married child, 31 or older, of a US citizen.
Community service will help. Those who can prove their "civic involvement" will be allocated five points.A final clause gives five points to those from countries with low immigration, which rules out Mexicans, Chinese and Indians.
120,000 green cards by 2017
Unlike other countries that have adopted the points scheme, including Britain and Canada, the exact bar for immigration admission under the proposed US system remains a mystery: other factors are also at play. But if your score is among the top 60,000, you will gain a green card.
Another block of 60,000 will also be awarded permanent residency based on criteria that favor lower-skilled labor such as construction. The merit system will come into force from October 2017, provided that the immigration reform law passes President Barack Obama's desk this summer. Over the years, the number of green cards could rise to 250,000."For many at a bachelor level," or for someone whose employer doesn't want to serve as a sponsor, "you're in a bind," immigration attorney Gregory Siskind told AFP."So the points system will give you an alternative to relying on your employer to get a green card," he added. "For a lot of people, that's going to mean freedom."
Until 2013, a lottery offered 55,000 visas per year. But Republican lawmakers have sought to end the program, which makes no distinction between skilled and unskilled immigrants.
In addition to the points system, the Senate proposal provides quota-free green cards for extraordinarily qualified researchers, scientists and graduates of US universities.
"I don't think that the long waits that we've had for a while are going to be a problem for a couple of years."

Britney Spears dines with mystery man on Valentine's Day

Pop star Britney Spears sparked a new romance rumor, just a month after calling off her engagement to Jason Trawick.

Spears went casual for the evening with jeans, a white top, black jacket and boots. She arranged her hair in a messy bun and held an oversized handbag. Her mystery date matched her look in a Rolling Stones tee, black jacket and baseball cap.

Before dining out with the man, the 'Hold It Against Me' hitmaker hung out with her mother in Malibu earlier in the day.

Spears and Trawick amicably split in January this year after a year of engagement.

Tragic country music star Mindy McCready has committed suicide

Tragic country music star Mindy McCready has committed suicide at age 37, one month after the death of her boyfriend led her back into the drug and alcohol abuse that plagued most of her adult life.
McCready shot herself on the porch of her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas, on Sunday afternoon.
The final weeks of McCready's life were fraught and tumultuous. Her live-in boyfriend David Wilson was found shot dead in their home on January 13 and police said the case was suspicious. She was forced to take to TV to deny she had played any role in the shooting and called Wilson her 'soul mate.'
A neighbor said McCready shot her dog before killing herself. She revealed in an interview last month that the dog had found the bullet that killed Wilson.
She told Dateline ABC: 'I didn't find the bullet, the dog did. It was in the dog's mouth.'
Asked if she had killed her boyfriend, McCready responded: 'Oh my God, no. He was my life, we were each other's life.'
Her death came only days after she was released from rehab. A judge had ordered her committed to a mental health facility after she admitted she had been drinking too much. Her father said she was also abusing prescription medication again.
McCready and her BF David Wilson
McCready spent just two days in a treatment facility before she was allowed to go home earlier this month.
'She was released because they think she is mentally stable enough, and she was tested for drugs and alcohol and everything came up fine,' a source told E! News. 'Nothing illegal came up.'
'One of the reasons they released her is she didn't have any symptoms of what an alcoholic would have. There were no signs she had a problem to the doctor.'

Miss USA Olivia Culpo is Miss Universe 2012!

Miss USA, Olivia Culpo has been crowned as Miss Universe 2012 at a gala event in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.Olivia Culpo defeated stunning divas from across 89 states to win the crown. As many as 89 beauty queens from around the world descended to compete for the title of Miss Universe.

The first and the second runners up are Janine Tugonon from Philippines and Irene Esser from Venezuela.
Olivia Culpo
Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes of Angola, crowned the successor amidst a round of loud applause.

Miss India, Shilpa Singh could not go beyond the 10th round.

Participants have already completed the evening gown round, the swimsuit competition, the national costume competition and the National Gift Auction. Miss Great Britain 2012, 21-year-old Holly Hale from Swansea, displayed an impressive level of confidence and style in all the segments.
Olivia Culpo

It was until 1998 when Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization. Its original headquarters moved from Long Beach, LA to New York City same year. Mr. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy. Redefined for Today", this is the slogan coined by Mills for promotion of the pageants. In the same year, the new Miss Universe logo was born: The Woman with the Stars, which is still being used today.

How Contestants are selected?
Miss Universe organizers received proposals each year from organizations who wish to decide on the Miss Universe contestant for a country. This permits competition between different pageants to hold a country's license, as happened for Miss Italy and Miss France for example, when the licenses for their respective traditional organizations were revoked (the usual Miss France competition returned in 2004)
Olivia Culpo
.

Typically a country's candidate selection involves a lot of pageants in major cities, with the winners contending in a national pageant, but not always happening. Take this as a mirror for example; in 2000 Australia's national pageant was stopped as a remnant of a bygone era, with Australian delegates instead chosen by a modeling agency. But of course the organization does not permit this one as the pageant is to promote and preserve aura of respectability and competition.
Main Pageant
Over a two week period in May and July the main Miss Universe Pageant is held. Previously, in the 1970s through the 1990s, the contest was a month long. This allowed time for rehearsals, appearances, and the preliminary competition, with the winner being crowned by the previous year's titleholder during the final competition.

The Miss Universe contest is more than a beauty pageant: women aspiring to become Miss Universe must be intelligent, well-mannered, and cultured. Most of the times a candidate has not won because she did not have a good answer during the question responses rounds; although this segment of competition has held less weight during recent pageants than it did in the twentieth century. Delegates also participate in swimsuit and evening gown
competitions.

New book claims Michelle Obama prepared divorce papers to separate from Barack

Michelle Obama prepared divorce papers to separate from Barack Obama in 2000 following his disastrous attempt to win a House seat in Chicago, according to a new book.
When he lost miserably the future First Lady was supposedly disgusted that her husband had ignored her warnings not to take on the four term incumbent Bobby Rush.
Their marriage - in its eighth year at the time - was ‘on the rocks’ with Mr Obama so depressed some of his friends feared he was suicidal.
The claims mark the second time the Obamas have faced allegations they were on the verge of divorce after reports in 2010 suggested they were having difficulties.
The couple have admitted that in the past they did go through a rough patch but that they patched things up and grew closer together.
The Amateur writen byEdward Klein

The Obamas have now been married for 21 years and have two children, Malia, 13, and Sasha, nine.
In ‘The Amateur’, Mr Klein’s unauthorised account of Mr Obama’s life and first term in office, he claims that Mr Obama was over ambitious in his attempt to take on House member Mr Rush for the black South Side seat in Chicago.
In a crushing blow, he lost by two votes to one prompting claims from Mr Rush that he was an ‘educated fool’.
Mr Klein writes: ‘After Obama’s humiliating defeat he was broke and deeply in debt and it looked as though he might be finished in public life.
‘During the dark days that followed his defeat, he turned to Michelle for comfort. But she was in no mood to offer him sympathy.
Barack Obama with his wife Michelle Obama

‘As a result their marriage was on the rocks, and Obama confided to friends that he and Michelle were talking about divorce.
‘Michelle actually had divorce papers drawn up’, one of her friends told me’.
In desperation Mr Obama begged friends to help him open an office to stay in politics - but did not tell his wife for fear of her wrath if she found out.
The couple appear to have worked out their differences, however - Mr Obama ran for a Senate seat in Illinois and won it in, assuming office in 2005 and restoring his wife's faith in him.
The Amateur also includes a number of other claims about Mr Obama, including an interview with his former pastor Jeremiah Wright which could ignite the debate about his religion.
During the 'birther' row about where Mr Obama was born he faced repeated accusations that not only was he born in Kenya, he was in fact a Muslim and not a Christian as he claims to be.
Asked by Mr Klein if he converted Mr Obama from Islam to Christianity, Mr Wright said: ‘That’s hard to tell.
Barack Obama with his Family

‘I think I convinced him that it was okay for him to make a choice in terms of who he believed Jesus is. And I told him it was really okay and not a put down of the Muslim part of his family or his Muslim friends’.
Mr Obama was supposedly known as ‘Black Jesus’ by his former senior campaign adviser David Axelrod because of his messiah complex, Mr Klein writes.
He also had a run-in with Steven Rogers, a wealthy businessman who became the Gund Family Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Early in his campaign for the U.S. Senate he gave Mr Obama $3,000 and arranged for thousands more dollars to be donated to him on one condition: he come and speaks at the school when he got elected.
After becoming a Senator Mr Obama is said to have gone back on his offer because he was too busy and told Mr Rogers: ‘Come on man, you should know better when politicians make promises’.
Obama's couple with Oprah Winfrey

In a furious tirade Mr Rogers screamed at him and had used abusive language.
A year later Mr Obama finally showed up but by then Mr Rogers’ had all but written him off as a friend.
In extracts which had already been made public Mr Klein claims that Mrs Obama is so jealous of her husband receiving female attention she orders women who are close to him in the White House to be watched.
The First Lady is supposedly paranoid Mr Obama will cheat on her as John F Kennedy did to his wife.
In the book he adds more detail and claims when Mr Obama was studying at Harvard as a law student she would fly into jealous rages when she saw him with other women.
She was supposedly so territorial that she ‘drove a lot of Barack’s friends away’, Mr Klein writes.
The only reason they got married at all was that Mrs Obama ‘insisted’ upon it - because she wanted to ‘remake him’ as she wanted and not let him have an easy life.
The book claims that once her husband assumed office she began to wield power behind the scenes to such an extent that Mr Obama shares a ‘co-presidency’ with her.
Mr Klein also alleges that Mr Obama twice snubbed Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former U.S. President John F Kennedy, and that he and Mrs Obama privately made disparaging comments about her family - and even their clothes.
‘Caroline got the impression that most of this negativity was coming from Michelle, who didn’t want the Kennedys to be part of the administration for fear that they would have too much influence over the president.’
Among others who were also shut out of the White House were Oprah Winfrey who Mr Klein claims was given the cold shoulder for being too fat.
The title of the book comes from a supposed outburst last August by former U.S. President Bill Clinton who branded Mr Obama ‘an amateur’.
He also urged his wife Hillary to quit her post as U.S. Secretary of State and challenge Mr Obama for the Democratic ticket in this year’s elections, telling her: ‘Your country needs you! Your country needs us!’
The White House has denounced the book and said that Mr Klein has a record for making things up.
Mr Clinton has also denied he insulted the President.

New Case of flesh-eating bacteria occurred in USA

After a case where student of psychology at the University of West Georgia was found infected by  the flesh eating bacteria known as Aeromonas hydrophila, A new case was seen in the USA and this time its New Mother.
Lana Kuykendall is a paramedic, so when a rapidly spreading red and black bruise appeared on the back of her leg after giving birth to twins, she knew something was wrong.
She and husband, Darren, raced to the hospital and within 90 minutes, the new mother was having surgery for necrotizing fasciitis, a rare but potentially deadly infection also called the flesh-eating bacteria.
“She’s still critical,” Darren Kuykendall told GreenvilleOnline.com. “It’s been a nightmare.”
After a normal pregnancy, the Piedmont couple welcomed their twins, Abigail and Ian, on May 7 at an Atlanta hospital, he said. Except for Lana needing blood, the delivery went normally and the babies were fine, he said.

But he said by the next day Lana, who had begun having leg cramps the night before, was weak. She couldn’t stand or walk. When tests revealed nothing wrong, they returned home Thursday.
By Friday morning, however, Lana, 36, discovered the strange lesion on the back of her left leg.
“That scared her. She thought it was a blood clot. So we rushed immediately to Greenville Memorial Hospital,” Darren Kuykendall said.
“And the longer she sat there, the bigger that spot got. It was initially the size of a 3-by-5 index card. But it got bigger and bigger. It moved a quarter of an inch in half an hour. Then the high-risk OB physician had a suspicion of what it was.”
Limbs Infeccted after Flesh eating bacteria attack it

Necrotizing fasciitis is a bacterial infection that often occurs in an arm or leg after a minor trauma or surgery, according to the National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation. Group A Strep is most often responsible in minor traumas, the group reports.
People have developed the condition through a host of experiences, including a C-section or natural childbirth, abdominal surgery or a scratch, a broken leg or a cut, according to the group.
A recent highly publicized case involves Aimee Copeland, a 24-year-old Georgia graduate student who got the infection after suffering a cut in a zip line accident, according to The Associated Press. Doctors had to amputate her left leg and may still have to remove her fingers, her father said.
The disease occurs when bacteria enter the body and emit toxins that destroy the soft tissue, which becomes infected and must be removed, according to the NF foundation. Along with surgery, treatment includes antibiotics and other medications.
If it spreads, it can cause systemic shock and death within days.
In Lana Kuykendall’s first surgery, doctors removed the dead skin and tissue, her husband said. A little more tissue was removed during a second and third surgery, but no more infected tissue was found in the last operation Monday, he said.
Group A strep caused the infection, which also spread to her blood, and she is being treated with antibiotics, he said. She was still on a ventilator in the intensive care unit on Tuesday and sedated.
Kuykendall, 42, has no idea how the infection occurred.
“They are saying things are leaning her way. Her vitals are good and her lab results are looking good,” he said. “But this could go either way at any given time.”
Married for four years, the couple met at the scene of an accident — he’s a firefighter and she’s a paramedic with Greenville Hospital System. The twins are healthy and being cared for by family and friends, he said.
